Fine watchmaking has long been framed by old names, distant places, inherited stories and carefully guarded hierarchies. Mechanical complexity—particularly the tourbillon—became one of the clearest symbols of that distance.

In the process, the name surrounding a watch could become louder than the object itself.

THE NAME

Horae, V, and the Fifth Season

The name HORAEV comes from an older meaning of time.

Horae evokes time, the seasons, order and the appointed moment. V is the Roman numeral for five.

Nature has four seasons. A human life has another.

It begins when a person no longer feels compelled to explain themselves, to turn every minute into achievement, or to let possessions speak too loudly on their behalf.

Ambition remains. Urgency recedes.

Beauty still matters, but noise no longer takes the place of judgment. Complexity still fascinates, but it need not become a performance of status. We call it The Fifth Season of Time.

In the Fifth Season, time is no longer a trophy. It returns to the wrist as a private order of one’s own.
